The Bedford Swan Thermal Spa

Tucked away in the historic Bedford Swan hotel is a haven of comfort and relaxation, The Bedford Swan Thermal SPA. We were asked to develop a design concept that seamlessly blends the hotel’s heritage with a contemporary spa. Our aim was to strive for a cohesive design narrative that respects the historical context while creating a tranquil and rejuvenating atmosphere for spa guests.

We carefully selected materials that incorporated natural elements such as wood and stone to create a sense of warmth and serenity. Combine them with sleek and contemporary finishes, such as glass or polished metals, to add a touch of modernity.

We planned the layout to optimise the available space for the sauna and steam rooms, ensuring proper circulation and providing areas for relaxation and modern changing facilities that align with the contemporary spa experience. 

A high consideration was given to accessibility and safety measures to accommodate guests of all abilities providing appropriate signage, and meeting safety codes and regulations. We installed slip-resistant flooring and appropriate handrails to enhance the safety of guests using the sauna and steam rooms.
