Hotel Cromwell

The Cromwell Hotel is a 356-year-old boutique modern hotel located in the heart of Stevenage. YesFoundry were asked to completely redesign the interior of the hotel including 70 individually designed guest rooms.

To honour the hotel’s rich history, we preserved and highlighted traditional architectural elements. Exposed beams, intricate mouldings, or original fireplaces were restored to their former glory, creating a sense of heritage and authenticity. These traditional features serve as focal points that seamlessly blend with the overall design.

Polished brass accents and lighting fixtures were strategically incorporated to add a touch of sophistication and elegance. Velvet fabrics were used throughout the hotel to evoke a sense of luxury and comfort. Plush velvet curtains, upholstery, and decorative cushions provide a soft and tactile experience for guests. The use of velvet adds depth and richness to the overall design, enhancing the inviting atmosphere. Drawing inspiration from British colours, we incorporated various shades of blue and purples throughout the hotel guest room, creating a sense of tranquillity and serenity while paying homage to the hotel’s British heritage.
